Faith is the secret to happiness for all people.

President Ikeda's Daily Encouragement December 3, 2011

Faith is the secret to happiness for all people. When you truly forge your mind of faith, you will become an eternal victor throughout the three existences of past, present and future. Strong faith enables you to display your wisdom appropriately, so that you can take advantage of change and move forward in the direction of victory and hope.

What is the key to realizing victory in an age of great upheaval and tumultuous change? It is for leaders to move, to stand in the forefront and to take initiative. I hope that you will make steady efforts to meet with many people and create allies. Keeping yourselves informed, please take full responsibility and always be the first to act.

GOSHO PASSAGE

The present time corresponds to the first five hundred years of the Latter Day of the Law. Passages of the sutra clearly state that at this time Bodhisattva Superior Practices will appear and bestow the five characters of Nam-myoho-renge-kyo on all the people of Japan. And they reveal that he will face exile and execution. I am also like the envoy of Bodhisattva Superior Practices because I spread this doctrine.

BUDDHISM DAY BY DAY - WISDOM FOR MODERN LIFE

Dialogue is a positive endeavor. It builds solidarity and creates unity. To reject others only has negative repercussions. It invites division and leads to destruction. The point is to meet and to talk. It is only natural that our perspective may at times differ from that of others. But dialogue gives rise to trust, even among those who don't see eye to eye.

A YOUTHFUL DIARY - Tuesday, March 22 (1960) Clear

The cemetery problem [in which cemeteries run by other sects refused to inter Gakkai members' ashes] is getting out of hand. How can any religion be so cruel as to refuse the ashes of the deceased? A sign of the times - of the Latter Day of the Law. Such an act of tantamount to a religion denying its fundamental mission and thus its failure as a religion. Told those who have cemetery plots at Taiseki-ji, no matter what religion they belong to, can freely bury ashes there.
In the evening, thanked our lawyers and senior leaders for their hard work.
After our mentor's passing, some have been lording it over others, flaunting their own status and authority. The wives of those individuals have displayed the same behavior. How foolish! How thoughtless! It's troubling for everyone.
Must be steadfast myself. Deeply concerned. My worries double and triple.
Am I coming down with a cold? My temperature is 100.4°. Will go to bed early. I feel sick.
My eldest son, Hiromasa, graduated from kindergarten.
